“Pandemic Influenza: Protecting Iowa’s First Responders” is brought to you by the Education and Training Advisory Committee (EdTrAC). EdTrAC is co-convened by the Iowa Department of Public Health, the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division, the Iowa Department of Public Safety, and the Upper Midwest Center for Public Health Preparedness at the University of Iowa.
Target Audience:
First responders, healthcare, and environmental health personnel who could be involved in responding to a pandemic influenza outbreak or in direct contact with potentially infected individuals.
People with Serious Mental Illness Through Times of Disaster: A Focus on Caregivers
The purpose of the video and the accompanying guide is to educate professionals who care for persons with serious mental illness about planning, preparation and responding to intentional and unintentional disasters and public health emergencies. At the completion of this the learner will be able to:
1. Define terminology and concepts related to terrorism and disaster
2. Recognize how NJ is prepared to respond in the event of a public health emergency
3. Identify changes in the consumer's mental health status post-disaster
