“Pandemic Influenza: Protecting Iowa’s First Responders” is brought to you by the Education and Training Advisory Committee (EdTrAC). EdTrAC is co-convened by the Iowa Department of Public Health, the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division, the Iowa Department of Public Safety, and the Upper Midwest Center for Public Health Preparedness at the University of Iowa.
Target Audience:
First responders, healthcare, and environmental health personnel who could be involved in responding to a pandemic influenza outbreak or in direct contact with potentially infected individuals.
Goal:
The goal of this program is to provide Iowa’s first responders with a consistent message regarding the challenges, safety considerations, and legal issues involved in responding to an event of pandemic proportions.
Program:
The complete DVD consists of five 15 minute long video segments presented by subject matter experts from across the state. These video segments have also been made available for viewing on the Iowa Upper Midwest Center for Public Health Preparedness website. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) checklists are also included as additional resources.
