The New Jersey Center for Public Health Preparedness at UMDNJ, established at the UMDNJ-School of Public Health, is one of the nation’s 21 Academic Centers for Public Health Preparedness. Funding is provided by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) through the Association of Schools of Public Health, and also through the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
What we do
Prepare the public health and healthcare workforces and others for:
- Biological, chemical, radiological or nuclear threats or emergencies
- Industrial and transportation accidents
- Infectious disease outbreaks
- Natural disasters
- Protecting the health and safety of emergency responders
